Doc Maxwell will be rollin’ into a town near you very soon – but how did he get here?

The Doc Maxwell story started when founder, Jonathan ‘Maxwell’ Phillips, started his journey in hospitality back in 1983. Over a period of eleven years he became Head Waiter and a Catering and Bars Supervisor whilst working in concert halls, theatres, bars, restaurants and function rooms.

For the next 30 years he focused on business & marketing for illustrious companies such as IBM, Ordnance Survey and the BBC – before setting up a number of companies and brands across a number of sectors.

Jonathan’s father worked in hospitality for most of his life. In the 1970’s he would book acts such as David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars; and whilst working for Mecca – was responsible for launching the UK’s first under 18s discos based in a nightclub.

Doc Maxwell is a family run business based in Hampshire – but travel all over the UK to bring magic to your event.

Our Approach

“…There are a lot of fabulous mobile bars around. We didn’t just want to just be ‘another’ bar – we wanted to bring a sense of theatre.

A sophistication and elegance giving a feel of tradition and heritage – combining a feel of victorian curiosities with a travelling medicine show. As well as being a full-service alcoholic bar we have a state of the art coffee bar serving our own gorgeous coffee roast…”
